Crack cocaine bust in Yonkers turns violent

A crack cocaine bust in Yonkers turned violent Tuesday night.

According to police, anti-crime officers observed drug dealing on Warburton Avenue and chased down two suspects. When officers approached the suspects, they tried to get rid of the drugs and a violent struggle ensued. One police officer was injured in the scuffle.

Police arrested 34-year-old Ernest Williams and 32-year-old John Washington, both from Yonkers. Both men were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and assault. The injured officer was treated and released.
