Westchester medical examiner rules Peekskill man?s death was accidental drowning

The Westchester medical examiner confirmed Friday that a Peekskill man died of accidental drowning in FDR State Park.

Divers spent five exhaustive days searching Mohansic Lake for the body of 20-year-old Jose Tenesaca. Officials say Tenesaca jumped off his paddleboat to go for a swim on Sunday and drowned. State parks officials say that while boating and fishing are allowed at the lake, swimming is never permitted.

Tenesaca?s family held a vigil on the lakeshore for the five days of the search. Funeral arrangements have not been finalized, however, family members say Tenesaca?s body may be returned to his home in Ecuador for burial.
