Man accused of killing Yonkers mom arraigned on murder charges

The man accused of the brutal murder of a Yonkers mother of two was arraigned Wednesday.

Police say Doreen Caponara was killed by her boyfriend Robert Burns. Caponara?s body was discovered Tuesday on the second floor of a home on Morris Crescent after Burns told police she had gone to the doctor?s office. The victim?s family members say they were trying to reach her since Monday.

Caponara?s family says the monthlong relationship between Burns was tumultuous and that Burns had choked Caponara two weeks ago. The family says police found a note that said Burns killed Doreen and was going to kill himself. Burns has been charged with second-degree murder.
