Security increased on Metro-North stations in light of recent London explosions

Heavily armed National Guard soldiers were a strong presence Thursday at train stations across Westchester and Rockland counties. The military and extra police were in light of the most recent explosions on London?s mass transit system.

Metro-North and local police were also patrolling the platforms. It seemed to be business as usual as the onslaught of commuters headed in and out of NYC. Many commuters said they were happy to see the troops at the station.

Thursday?s incident in London did remind many commuters to be alert and be aware of their surroundings. Law enforcement will begin to randomly search passengers and Metro-North and Amtrak trains.
