Manhunt launched in Peekskill after shots fired at police

Peekskill police conducted a manhunt Friday for the suspect or suspects who opened fire Thursday at an apartment complex.

According to investigators, police were told of shots being fired at the intersection of Main and Hadden streets near the Bohlmann Towers housing complex. When police arrived, as many as eight shots were fired in their direction.

Police conducted a massive search but could not find the shooter or shooters responsible. Authorities say police patrols in the area will be increased.
