Tragic death of Ossining sanitation worker brings community together

The tragic death of an Ossining sanitation worker brought the community together Saturday.

It seemed as if the entire village of Ossining packed Saint Augustine?s Church for the funeral for 24-year-old John Rodrigues. Rodrigues had been on the job for only two months when he tragically died last Wednesday. He was working on Browning drive, when he fell from the back of his truck and hit his head.

The incident has raised concerns about the speed at which workers must collect garbage. The accident is under investigation by Ossining Police and the State Labor Department.Related storyFreak accident in Ossining claims the life of a sanitation worker
