Powerful storm leaves behind trail of damage in Westchester
(07/27/05) ARDSLEY ? A powerful storm left behind a trail of damage Wednesday after streaking through areas of Westchester and Hudson Valley.
Thousands of residents lost power as strong winds toppled trees into power lines. The gusts also sent trees sprawling into the streets, and in some instances, caused them to crash into cars and houses. Twenty Indian Point power plant emergency sirens were also disabled due to power outages.
One resident sustained minor injuries when a tree fell over and smashed into his automobile. Crews are in the process of cleaning up debris throughout the county.
