Teen in stable condition after being struck while riding his bike in Bedford

An 18-year-old boy is in stable condition Monday after being hit by a car while riding his bike on Bedford Road.

Police say the driver, 18, was pulling out of the Hess station on Route 117 heading southbound Sunday night and hit Allen Beawin, who was riding in the opposite direction.

Beawin was treated at the scene for head, back and leg injuries and then taken to Westchester Medical Center, where he was initially listed in critical condition. Police say the accident is under investigation.
