Two young brothers scalded to death buried together in one casket in Yonkers

The two young brother who died after being scalded in a bathroom were buried together in one casket in Yonkers Thursday.

St. Mary?s Church was packed with mourners that were touched by the boys? tragic deaths. Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone was also present to pay his respects. Family members say they chose a white coffin to represent the boys? innocence. Buried along with 20-month-old David Maldonado Jr. and 2-year-old Elijah Santana were their two favorite stuffed animals.

Authorities say the boys died of severe burns after they were left in a bathroom flooded with scalding hot water. The boys' mother, Luz Arroyo, and David?s father, David Maldonado, are in county jail charged with their deaths.
