The Gangs of Westchester ? Boyz in the ?Burbs, Part 2

As gangs infiltrate places like Westchester County, they start to recruit younger and younger members.

A member of the Bloods gang says he got into it when he was 16 years old. He says the attraction to the gang was making fast money and having a group of people around him all the time. Police say children as young as 10 years old are being recruited by some gangs.

A Mount Vernon Police Department Youth Unit officer says junior high school kids are getting recruited by gangs to help them sell drugs. He adds a younger offender won?t get as much jail time as an adult. Unfortunately, many gang members see doing time in a juvenile facility as a badge of courage.
