Nearly 200 people pay final respects to Hasting worker electrocuted on the job

Nearly 200 people attended funeral services Friday for the department of public works employee killed on the job in Hastings. Charles Murray, 29, a volunteer firefighter and veteran of the Hastings Department of Public Works, was electrocuted while trying to fix a streetlight on the Warburton Avenue Bridge Monday. Murray was buried at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne. Police departments from Hastings, Yonkers, Dobbs Ferry, Greenburgh and Westchester County helped escort the procession. An investigation into Murray?s death is underway by the Public Safety and Health Division of the State Department of Labor.
