Hate literature turns up several in Mt. Pleasant mailboxes

Literature containing racist slogans turned up in several Mount Pleasant mailboxes over the weekend.

Police say at least five families found hate mail Saturday morning. Many residents are shocked there would be a hate crime in their community. Police say criminal charges may be forthcoming and are searching for those responsible.

This is the second incident involving hate mail in Mount Pleasant. Police say they have asked the district attorney?s biased crime unit to begin an investigation.
