Eastchester man gets temporary custody of kids after accusing wife of affair

An Eastchester couple is locked in a divorce and custody fight that centers around a husband?s claim that his wife was having an affair with a priest.

A family court judge awarded Philip DeFilippo temporary custody of his two children. His estranged wife, Laura, was awarded immediate visitation rights. The judge also lifted an order of protection against Laura so she can collect her belongings from the couple?s home.

DeFilippo claims his 46-year-old wife was having an affair with 79-year-old Monsignor Eugene Clark. DeFilippo says an investigator he hired caught the St. Patrick?s Cathedral priest and his wife, a secretary at the church, leaving a motel together on videotape.

Meanwhile, Clark has since resigned from his post as rector of St. Patrick?s. The Eastchester couple is due back in court on September 1.
