Harrison man faces charges in road rage incident in Manhattan

A Harrison man is facing a list of charges after investigators say his SUV mowed down six people while trying to evade police in Manhattan Tuesday.

Police say 51-year-old Hugo Palomino was arguing with another driver when they tried to intervene. Investigators say when Palomino took out his wallet, white powder fell from it. Palomino then took off in his car, dragging a police lieutenant. The SUV hit another vehicle, mounted the sidewalk and hit six people. Palomino ran but was taken into custody a short time later.

Police say cocaine, pills and an opened bottle of vodka were found in the car. Palomino is charged with assaulting a police officer, leaving the scene of an accident, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. His passenger was also charged with drug possession.
