Northern Westchester hospital to take the wait out of ?waiting room?
Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt has implemented a ?no wait? emergency room.
The improvement at the hospital involved expanding the entire emergency room. The key components are computer carts, which let hospital staff register patients at their bedside. The objective is to make sure patients get help in under 10 minutes.
The hospital president expects the idea to spread. The project cost almost $1 million and was funded partly by a grant from Entergy, the owner of the Indian Point Power Plant.
