Second home invasion in as many days in Rockland

Clarkstown police have reported the second home invasion in New City in two days.

Police say a suspect entered the Rolling Ridge Road home through an unlocked basement door. The intruder tied up the homeowner and stole cash, all while the resident?s mother was asleep in another room.

Thursday night, a woman was robbed at gunpoint on Strathmore Drive with the suspect making off with jewelry and money. Police do not believe the two incidents are related since no weapon was used in the most recent burglary. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5840.
