Yorktown man killed while cutting down tree in backyard

A Yorktown man was killed Sunday while cutting down a tree in his backyard.

According to police, 42-year-old Joseph Zeoli and his father-in-law were in the backyard of their home cutting down a 40-foot tree with a chain saw. Authorities say when the tree began to fall, Zeoli was unable to get out of the way.

Zeoli was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital where he died a short time later. Police say his wife, who is eight-months pregnant, may have been taken to the hospital due to shock.
