Firefighters across Westchester deploy to hurricane disaster zone

Firefighters throughout Westchester are preparing to deploy to the hurricane disaster zone to assist thousands in need.

Nine fire departments in Westchester County are preparing to send 100 firefighters to the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. Prior to leaving, fire officials say they experienced a problem with paperwork, getting updated information on the firefighters medical records, workers compensation and pension information. They say that problem has been resolved.

The firefighters are slated to leave by the end of the week.
