Pelham firefighters collect donations for hurricane victims

Firefighters in Pelham are collecting donations of water, food, clothing and other supplies to bring to victims of Hurricane Katrina Wednesday.

The firefighters made contact with a fire apparatus company in Louisiana to coordinate this latest effort to bring supplies to the Gulf Coast. They received a list of goods that were needed and residents of the community have been dropping off supplies.

The fire chief says once the truck is filled, they will head down south to deliver it to the fire apparatus company where it will be distributed.
