Westchester gas stations under investigation for price gouging

Nearly a dozen gas stations in Westchester are under investigation for price gouging.

Wednesday, the county subpoenaed records from a station in Shrub Oak that jacked up prices more than $1 a gallon overnight. Included in the subpoenas are 10 other gas stations that had 60 cent or higher hikes in one day.

Westchester County Executive Andy Spano says the gas station owners have to show what they paid for the gas and demonstrate that the pricing is fair. Spano says the state attorney general will prosecute stations engaging in price gouging.
