Westchester police and fire officials organize Katrina collection at Costco

Local police and fire departments have a ?drive? underway at the local Costco to benefit the Gulfport, Mississippi victims of Hurricane Katrina. All collected donations will be shipped to a team of emergency personnel from the local area that have been helping during the search and rescue part of the clean up mission in Mississippi. The team has reported back that while things have improved in the Gulfport area, citizens are still in need of many essential items such as diapers, bleach and canned food. Officials who organized the donation drive are asking shoppers to think of the victims while buying for their families and purchase what they can for others. Officials will continue the collection through Sunday evening.
