Three Westchester legislators embark on humanitarian mission to New Orleans

Three Westchester County legislators and a Mount Vernon clergy member embarked on a fact finding and humanitarian mission to New Orleans Friday.

Legislator Lois Bronz (D-District 8), Majority Leader Clinton Young (D-District 13) and Minority Leader George Oros (R-District 1) were joined by Reverend W. Darin Moore, of the Greater Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church, to meet with city officials and the National Medical Association in New Orleans to see exactly how Westchester can help. They will also meet with local spiritual leaders to offer support.

Avitat Westchester donated a private jet for the flight. Although the trip will only last a few hours, the group hopes to return with solutions to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
