Several Westchester police departments shipping supplies to hurricane victims

Several Westchester police departments were busy Monday morning packing up trucks filled with supplies for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Officers from Harrison, Port Chester, Rye Brook, New Rochelle, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry and North Castle camped out at various stores asking residents to do some extra shopping for their Hurricane Katrina relief effort. The officers say the generosity has been overwhelming.

In addition to sending supplies, five police officers from various departments are heading to Gulfport, Mississippi to join other members already down there helping out.
