Yonkers man claims someone cast a voodoo hex on him

The Yonkers police are working a bizarre case that involves claims of voodoo spells being cast.A man claims "brown voodoo powder" was sprinkled on the driver's side door, seat and steering wheel of his car. He didn?t want the police to touch it. He only wanted them to document what had happened. The man said he would contact a witch doctor to counteract the powder?s supernatural effect.

Many residents in Yonkers are followers of the religion known as Santeria. A high priest of Santeria says different powders have different meanings. He says a brown powder is a message for someone to go away. The priest says the religion does not believe in casting spells, but rather to bring balance to someone?s life.

Police are following up by re-interviewing the person who made the complaint.
