White Plains kicks off Hurricane Katrina relief concert

The city of White Plains has responded to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in many ways.

On Saturday, the city hosted a relief concert. The concert was free, but those in attendance made donations. Vendors are also donating all the proceeds to victims of Katrina.

This week, three families from down South were relocated to apartments in the city that will be rent free for a year. White Plains Mayor Joseph Delfino says the city is forming a committee of ministers and school districts to work together to pool resources to help hurricane victims even more.
