Family of woman killed at Galleria Mall in White Plains sues for $15 million

The family of a woman killed at the Galleria Mall in White Plains is suing the city and Westchester County for $15 million.

The lawsuit claims both the city and the county did not provide enough security at the Galleria Mall parking lot. Philip Grant, a homeless sex offender who served 23 years in jail, admitted to police that he stabbed Connie Russo Carriero, 56, in a parking garage at the Galleria Mall on June 29.

Carriero?s family believes ?her last few minutes on this planet were the definition of terror? and that is why they are suing. The lawsuit claims the city of White Plains "negligently, recklessly, and carelessly" failed to protect the people who parked there.
