Westchester looks at nationwide policy changes for elderly

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) assisted Westchester County in wrapping up its yearlong effort to see what nationwide changes can be made to help the aging population.

Clinton gave a keynote address to the audience at the Westchester County Pre-White House Conference on Aging. Both the county and the federal government are trying to find ways to make growing older easier. Their goal is to come up with policies to have the elderly have long, productive and enjoyable lives.

Some of the county?s suggestions include more affordable housing and better transportation for seniors. The recommendations will be pushed at the December ?White House Conference on Aging.
