Boy and grandfather safe after getting lost overnight in Bear Mountain State Park

An 8-year-old boy and his grandfather are home safe after getting lost overnight on a hike in Bear Mountain State Park.

Dr. Mayor Rosenfeld, of Queens, and his grandson, Ezra Kushner, of Long Island, were found Monday after an intense search by their family, friends and the state police. Once Rosenfeld realized they were lost he called his wife on his cell phone and was able to lead searchers just eight miles from the state police headquarters where he and his grandson were located .

State police say they had more than 80,000 square miles to search and are glad they were able to find them safe.
