Convicted sex offender found guilty in Yonkers boy's murder

A convicted sex offender has been found guilty Wednesday on all counts in the murder of a 12-year-old Yonkers boy seven years ago.

Robert DeRosario, who is serving 10 years in state prison for sodomizing teenage boys, was charged in the kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Orlandito Rosario Maldanado. The boy disappeared in 1998 and his body was found buried off the Saw Mill Parkway in Dobbs Ferry three months later.

DeRosario's attorney claims there is no evidence his client killed the boy, however, witnesses testified they saw Maldanado with him the day he disappeared.

DeRosario could get 25 years to life when he is sentenced.Related storiesClosing arguments heard in murder trial of convicted Westchester sex offender Convicted sex offender goes on trial for 1998 murder of Yonkers boy
