Police crack down on drug activity in Yorktown

Police in Yorktown have launched an initiative to crack down on drug activity.

The drug enforcement initiative has two police officers spending four hours a week investigating drug complaints. The Yorktown police have made arrests for sales and possession of crack cocaine, PCP and marijuana. Police say one arrest revealed information that led to the apprehension of the suspect in a bank robbery, which took place earlier this year in Peekskill.

The Yorktown Police Department chief says the initiative was needed in the community to enforce the drug laws and get drugs of the streets.
