News anchor's joke about Westchester County Airport riles leaders

A joke by a national news anchor about the Westchester County Airport isn?t sitting well with leaders and residents in the county.

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams compared the airport to a chaotic Third World country while on Don Imus?s radio talk show. Williams said the flights were late and people were milling around confused.

Airport management and Westchester County Executive Andy Spano were infuriated by the comments. Spano calls the comments ridiculous and says he has only heard great things about the airport.

NBC did issue a statement saying Williams? comments were in the context of a joking appearance and that he was not serious. They added he loves Westchester County Airport.
