Mohegan Lake man faces prison time for stealing fire truck

A Mohegan Lake man is facing prison time after stealing a fire truck as a prank.

Police say 23-year-old Jesse Watson was drunk when he stole a fire truck from the Continental Village Firehouse just as it was about to answer a call Sunday. Volunteer firefighters had just pulled the truck out of the firehouse to check downed power lines. Police say Watson jumped out of a car and into the rig and drove off.

Police found the fire truck about 30 minutes later after it had crashed into some trees. Watson is facing multiple felony charges including grand larceny, reckless endangerment and DWI.
