Parts of Peekskill underwater due to relentless rain

A solid week of rain left parts of Peekskill underwater Thursday.

At the Chateau Rive complex off of John Street, deep flood waters trapped many residents. City workers tried to pump out the knee-deep waters, but some pipes were clogged so the water had no place to go.

The relentless rain also caused traffic nightmares across Westchester. There have been periodic road closures on the Saw Mill, Bronx River and Taconic parkways. However, the Saw Mill Parkway in Hastings finally re-opened to traffic Thursday morning.
