Fire destroys home in Continental Village

An elderly man in Continental Village was left homeless Friday after a fire tore through his house.

Six fire departments responded to the midday blaze on Morris Avenue. No one was home at the time, however, firefighters were unable to save the owner?s dog. The damage to the home was so extensive that fire officials say it will have to be demolished.

One firefighter had minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
