Residents enjoy day of festivities at Harrison Police Headquarters

Residents came out to enjoy a day of festivities at the Harrison Police Headquarters Saturday.

An open house was held as part of the Columbus Day activities and "Great to Live in Harrison Day." Because of the wet weather last weekend, the day of fun had to be rescheduled for Saturday. Children got to talk with policemen and firefighters and were even able to hop on a motorcycle or helicopter. Many parents said the event helped children establish positive relationships with law enforcement.

The Harrison Police Department chief says more than 1,500 people attended the free event.
