Candidates in county executive race head to Yonkers to build support

The race for Westchester county executive is heating up with only three weeks until election day.

Democrat incumbant Andy Spano, picked up endorsements from two teachers unions in Yonkers Monday. The unions represent teachers at Westchester Community College and the Yonkers public schools. Meanwhile, his opponent Republican Rob Astorino, was joined by Guardian Angels founder and radio talk show host Curtis Sliwa in proposing after-school programs to keep kids out of trouble.

Both candidates are now in full-court press mode with their campaigns heading toward election day.
