Indian Point emergency sirens fail in Orange County

A test of the emergency sirens at Indian Point Tuesday once again revealed problems with the majority of Orange County sirens failing.All of the 156 emergency sirens in the four counties surrounding Indian Point were tested with the majority of Orange County sirens failing. According to Jim Steets, the spokesperson for the company that owns Indian Point, the signal from the transmitting tower did not get to 10 of the 16 sirens in Orange County. The sirens were then tested again and worked.Overall, Steets says Entergy is pleased with the latest test. He says another test may be needed in Orange County once the cause of the latest problem is discovered.
