Bronx Republicans may sue ex-Senator Velella over use of GOP account

Former State Senator Guy Velella could find himself back in a courtroom after using funds from a GOP account to pay his legal fees.

A special investigation by News 12 Westchester revealed that Velella used $70,000 from an account for the Bronx County Republican Committee. Velella claims the account was a political one and contained funds he raised. The Board of Elections says it is a party account, therefore, the executive board of the committee is supposed to determine how the money is spent.

Bronx Republican Party may be getting ready to file a lawsuit demanding the money back. Also, the Bronx district attorney might investigate the former senator?s use of the account.
