Fire destroys landmark restaurant in Port Chester

A fire Friday destroyed a landmark restaurant that has been a part of Port Chester for more than 50 years. The well-known Tarry Lodge turned into a massive fire scene after flames ignited between 8:30 and 10 a.m. No one was injured in the blaze, but there are still a number of unanswered questions. Investigators are searching through the rubble trying to determine the cause of the blaze. Officials estimate the damage at $1 million. There is no word yet on whether the owner has insurance or if he plans to rebuild.
