Yonkers teen critically injured in car accident

A Yonkers teenager is fighting for his life after being hit by a car.

According to authorities, the teen was playing with a friend on Riverdale Avenue and ran into the street between two parked cars. Police say the boy was then hit by a red compact car and then landed head first into the windshield. The boy was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where he is listed in critical condition.

Investigators say the driver of the car is cooperating and most likely will not face any charges.
