Two-car accident on Hutchinson River Parkway sends several to hospital

One person was seriously injured Saturday after police say wet road conditions on the Hutchinson River Parkway caused a two-car accident.

Police say at around 2 p.m. the driver of a silver sedan lost control of her vehicle as she tried to merge onto the parkway from Westchester Avenue. The driver suffered serious injuries and four people inside the other vehicle were sent to Westchester Medical Center.

Police shut down the southbound lanes on Interstate-287 and diverted vehicles onto Westchester Avenue.
