Mount Vernon family vacationing in hurricane-battered Cancun doing fine

A Scarsdale mother left fearing for the life of her son and family in hurricane-battered Cancun is breathing easier Saturday after a telephone call relieved her from her worries.

Kenneth Santore apparently used a reporter's cell phone to call his mother to let her know they were doing fine. Santore and his family, all from Mount Vernon, were vacationing in Cancun when Hurricane Wilma?s 140 mph winds hit Mexico?s mainland.

Santore?s mother says she called the United Nations and the Mexican Embassy seraching for her son.
