Rainy, windy weather causes part of Saw Mill River Parkway to close

Hurricane Wilma remnants and an early-season Nor?easter caused part of the Saw Mill River Parkway to close Tuesday.

The parkway is closed Southbound at Manville Road and Northbound at Marble Avenue in Thornwood due to flooding. Officials say they cannot reopen that section of the parkway until the water recedes.

Officials say 1,000 Con Ed customers are without power and 2,800 NYSET customers in North Westchester and Southern Putnam are without power.
