Westchester sex offenders to be under careful watch on Halloween
Trick-or-treaters will find the lights out at the homes of dozens of sex offenders this Halloween in Westchester.
That?s because instead of handing out candy they will be participating in a class and learning more about the heinous crimes they?ve committed. It?s all part of a new safety measure that?s never been used before in the county. The invitations are already in the mail to some 45 registered offenders. Those who don?t show up will receive a personal visit from their probation officer.
The program is being held in White Plains during peak trick-or-treating hours.
