Congresswoman Lowey alerts WC teachers, students about food allergy dangers

Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY) is raising awareness about the seriousness of food allergies.

Lowey says her goal is to make sure teachers in all of Westchester?s schools know how to react if and when students have allergic reactions. Lowey says she also wants to remind parents to be mindful of what's in their kids' trick-or-treat bags. She says people need to buy Halloween treats that are safe for children who have allergy problems.

Lowey has already passed legislation to improve food labels.
