Yonkers victim's family protests delays in killer's sentencing

The family of a Yonkers murder victim was outside the county courthouse Thursday protesting another delay in the sentencing of the convicted killer.

Ayman Marji was convicted of the December shooting death of 26-year-old Omar Torres. Prosecutors say the shooting was a case of revenge, spurred on by the tense relations between Arabs and Hispanics in the community. However, Marji?s attorney wants the conviction set aside and for his client to get a new trial. Marji?s attorney claims his client?s rights were violated during the trial.

The court proceedings have been put on hold until November 29.
