Volunteers in White Plains head out to deliver turkey dinners

Volunteers in White Plains headed out Thursday to deliver Thanksgiving dinner to people who are homebound.

The volunteers who gave up their holiday to help others say it makes them feel good to do something for someone else. Some feel it is important to set a good example for their children. Most wanted the people who received the meals to realize that they are not alone.

Many volunteers deliver for Meals On Wheels on a regular basis and say going to someone?s home with a hot meal is like a visit with a friend. For many recipients it is the only human contact they have.
