Amid shoppers, protesters picket the sale of furs in White Plains

While shoppers were out in full force snapping up Black Friday bargains, animal rights activists were protesting the sale and purchase of furs in White Plains.

Members of the organization known as Animal Defenders of Westchester were outside Macy?s trying to get their message across to shoppers. They have dubbed the day after Thanksgiving ?Fur-Free Friday? and hope retailers will stop selling furs.

A spokesperson for Macy?s says as long as there is a public demand for fur, they will continue to sell it. And the activists say they will continue to protest.
