Heavily armed police arrested a man wanted for questioning in a homicide after raiding his apartment building in Yonkers Wednesday.

State police, assisted by the Yonkers police, surrounded the building on Ludlow Avenue. The suspect wouldn?t leave his apartment, prompting an almost three-hour standoff with police. Residents were cleared out of the neighborhood during the raid for their own safety

Eventually, Idowu Short emerged from his apartment. Police are looking to question Short about the murder of 25-year-old Angel Cerbey, who was killed in September. Police are also executing a search warrant of Short?s apartment. As of now, Short is not being charged with any crime and is being questioned at the state police barracks.
