Embattled Pirro says she is still in the race for U.S. Senate

Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced Friday that she is still running for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Hillary Clinton (D-NY). Pirro met with Governor George Pataki (R-NY) to discuss whether she should drop out of the race. Back in October, Pataki endorsed Pirro as the Republican challenger. Pirro, however, has had several miss-steps on the campaign trail. This week high-level Republican party leaders have come out publicly asking her to drop out of the race and run for attorney general instead. Some political insiders, however, say they think it will only be a matter of time before Pirro does bow out of the race.
